Learn How-To Update Xperia X10 Mini Pro to Android 4.0 via CyanogenMod 9 [for windows]

If you are a user of Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pro and want to update to Android 4.0 via CyanogenMod 9 you are on a right place below you can see step-by-step guide for this purpose. Before you get stared make sure that you have manage your back-up because below steps can damage your valued data. You also need a device with fully charging And a Rooted device.

USB drivers for your phone.  These are needed so the tools can properly detect your phone.  Try the drivers included in the FlashTool package.  The installer file is inside the “drivers” folder inside the “Flashtool” folder.

Instructions

Step 1

First of all you need to download the FlashTool from here on your PC and then open it after this using a USB cable connect the device to the PC and If the accurate drivers are installed previously, FlashTool can easily make out your device.

Step 2

Now click the padlock icon in FlashTool to begin the rooting process and in this regard follow all onscreen instructions to the letter.

Step 3

When done, FlashTool will say “Root Access Allowed.”  Verify that the Superuser app is installed on the device.  If it is installed then your device is rooted.

Step 4

Now Turn Off your X10 Mini Pro and then exit FlashTool after this download the s1tool from here launch s1tool.exe on your PC.

Step 5

Then connect your device to your PC and press and hold down the Back button on the phone then click the “Identify” button in s1tool.

  • If s1tool displays “SEMC SIMLOCK CERTIFICATE” or “SETOOL2 SIMLOCK SERTIFICATE”, you can safely unlock the bootloader.  Proceed to the next step.
  • If s1tool says “NOT RECOGNIZED SIMLOCK CERTIFICATE”, style=”text-decoration: underline;”>do not proceed.

Step 6

Then Exit s1tool and launch FlashTool on your PC again and select Plugins > X10 Unlock > run from FlashTool’s menu.  Follow the instructions on the screen.

Step 7

After bootloader unlocking Done just exit FlashTool.

Step 8

Download the nAa kernel from here Copy the into the “firmwares” folder inside the “Flashtool” folder.

Step 9

Ther launch FlashTool once more and click the lightning icon in FlashTool. From the dialog window, choose the nAa kernel and click on OK to begin the installation and follow the onscreen instructions.

Step 10

Now on your phone, enable both Settings > Applications > Unknown sources and Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging.

Step 12

At this point, both ClockworkMod Recovery and the nAa kernel are already installed on your phone.

Step 13

After this download the CyanogenMod 9 ROM  from here and GApps update package from here and Copy both the CyanogenMod 9 ROM and GApps to the root of sdcard of your phone.

Step 14

Completely power down your phone and Boot into ClockworkMod Recovery to press the Back key a few times when the Sony Ericsson logo appears on the screen as the phone is booting up.

Step 15

In recovery mode, create a nandroid backup of existing ROM, if anything should not work out something expected on this ROM, it will helps you to easily revert back to your current state, to create select “Backup and Restore”, and on the screen that follows select “Backup” again and return to the main recovery menu.

Step 16

Now fully wipe all phone data by selecting the following:

  • Wipe data/factory reset
  • Wipe cache
  • Advanced > Wipe Dalvik cache

Step 17

Select Install ZIP from SDcard > Choose ZIP from SDcard and also choose the CyanogenMod 9 ZIP file that you copied to the phone.  Now verify that you want to install the file.

Step 18

Now also repeat the previous step for the GApps update package.

Step 19

Return to the main recovery menu and choose “Reboot system now”.
